Privacy policy

Effective date: October 13, 2026

EduCare, LLC ("EduCare," "we," "us") provides continuing education for licensed mental health professionals and behavior analysts at educarecomplete.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, courses, and emails, how we use it, who receives it, and the choices you have. Our Cookie Policy describes each cookie and tracking tool in detail, and our Terms & Conditions govern use of the site.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address, password, license type, and whether you agree to receive promotional email.
  • Purchase details: your name, email address, billing details, and what you bought. Card details go directly to Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Course and certificate records: your enrollments, progress, quiz and exam results, course evaluations, and certificates of completion, including your BACB certification number or your LPCC, LMFT, or LCSW license number. We collect these numbers only to issue your certificate of completion.
  • Messages and posts: what you send us through Ask Instructor, your account inbox, community areas, email, or phone.
  • Email signups: your email address, and your name if you give it, when you request a resource or join our newsletter.

Information from other sources

  • Facebook and Instagram lead forms: if you submit one of our lead forms on Meta's platforms, Meta passes us what you entered, such as your name and email address.
  • Stripe and MailerLite: records of your purchases and email signups, as described in Section 3.
  • Email engagement: MailerLite, our email service, tells us whether our emails were delivered, opened, or clicked.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our providers collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and similar technical data through cookies and similar technologies. Optional analytics and advertising tools run as described in our Cookie Policy and Section 3.

2. How we use information

  • Deliver courses, track your progress, and issue certificates.
  • Process payments, refunds, and receipts.
  • Keep the records required by the organizations that approve or authorize our continuing education (NBCC and the BACB), and respond to their audits.
  • Answer your questions and provide support.
  • Send emails you ask for, such as a requested resource, and promotional emails if you opted in. Every promotional email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Measure which pages, emails, and ads lead to signups and enrollments, and improve our website and courses.
  • Protect accounts, prevent fraud, and keep the website secure.
  • Comply with the law and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

3. Analytics and marketing measurement

  • We use PostHog, a website analytics service hosted in the United States, to understand how visitors find and use our website. If you accept Analytics cookies, PostHog records the pages you visit and how you interact with them, such as clicks and scrolling. When you are signed in, PostHog links that activity to your account email address.

Separately from your cookie choices, two of our providers send records to PostHog. Stripe sends purchase details (email address, items purchased, amount, and payment reference numbers, never card details). MailerLite sends email signup details (email address, name, and the list you joined). We use these combined records only to learn which pages and marketing efforts lead to signups and enrollments.

  • We also use Google Analytics to measure website use, and Google Ads and Meta Pixel to measure and target our advertising. These advertising tools can collect information about your activity on our site and across other websites over time. Meta Pixel loads only if you accept Marketing cookies. Google tags load before you make a cookie choice and may send limited requests even if you decline, as our Cookie Policy explains.

4. Who receives your information

We share personal information with the service providers that run our business, and each receives only what it needs for its job. They process it on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.

We also disclose information in these cases:

  • Continuing education audits: we provide completion records to NBCC or the BACB when they audit our programs or verify your credits.
  • Legal requirements: we disclose information when the law requires it or to protect the rights and safety of others.
  • Business transfer: if EduCare is sold or merges with another company, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy. We will notify account holders before that happens.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it with other companies for their own direct marketing.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Account information: review and update it in your account profile at any time.
  • Promotional email: use the unsubscribe link in any promotional email. We still send transactional emails, such as receipts and certificates.
  • Cookies: use the Cookie preferences button on any page to accept or decline Functional, Analytics, and Marketing cookies.
  • Access, correction, and deletion: email admin@educarecomplete.com to request a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion. We respond within 45 days and may need to confirm your identity first. After a deletion request, we keep only the certificate and completion records our approval bodies require and the purchase records tax law requires.
  • Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: our website does not currently respond to these browser signals. Use Cookie preferences instead, or email us to opt out.
  • We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live.

6. California residents

  • Other companies, including Google and Meta, may collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites when you use our site, as described in Section 3.
  • Our use of Google Ads and Meta Pixel may count as "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. To opt out, decline Marketing cookies in Cookie preferences or email us.
  • We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
  • Our response to Do Not Track signals is described in Section 5.

7. How long we keep information

  • Account and course records: while your account is open. Continuing education records (participant rosters, course evaluations, and certificates of completion) are kept for at least five years for NBCC programs and at least three years for BACB programs, as those organizations require.
  • Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Email lists: until you unsubscribe. We keep your address on a suppression list so we do not email you again.
  • Messages: up to one year, unless needed for an open issue.
  • Analytics and advertising data: only as long as it is useful for measuring our marketing, within each provider's retention limits.

8. Security

  • We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site, PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe, and access controls that limit your information to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Children

Our website and courses are designed for adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Client and student information

Please do not include protected health information or student-identifying information in course submissions, discussions, or messages. Our courses never require it, and our systems are not set up to hold it under HIPAA or FERPA safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy and contact information

We will post any update on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will also notify account holders by email before it takes effect.
